Archie W. Londry

Archie Londry, a Second World War Veteran of the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF), has proven to be a pillar in the Brandon-Souris community. He has worked continuously on the RCAF Memorial Wall Project, which is dedicated to the fallen men and women of the Commonwealth who gave their lives during the Second World War.

In 2010, Mr. Londry became the Chair of the Memorial Project Committee of the Commonwealth Air Training Plan Museum and began the ambitious project to create a permanent public tribute to all members of the RCAF and all Veterans of the Commonwealth who made the ultimate sacrifice during the Second World War. The RCAF Second World War Memorial, now located on the grounds of the Commonwealth Air Training Plan Museum in Brandon, preserves the memory of the fallen service men and women, and educates younger generations of their sacrifice.

Mr. Londry is also a very active participant in Veterans’ Week, where he commemorates the fallen soldiers of the Commonwealth. He has worked many years with local Veterans to ensure they receive their benefits and he is a strong advocate for the families who have lost their loved ones during service to ensure that they receive pensions. Mr. Londry is an active volunteer at his local Legion and has dedicated his life after flying to making sure local Veterans and their families are well taken care of.
