Bev Harrison, CD has served as a member of the executive and currently serves as President of the Royal Canadian Air Force Association 250 Wing, where he has spearheaded the annual Battle of Britain ceremonies in Saint John for over 25 years. He has also organized what has become known as the pre-Remembrance Day dinner, which brings together Veterans and current serving members of the military, along with community members and political leaders, for an evening of friendship and remembrance.
Bev has been involved with the military in various capacities since being an air cadet to later on becoming commanding officer of an air cadet squadron and aiding in writing a history focused on cadets who went on to become members of the Canadian and British armed forces.
Bev was also the committee chair who stopped the sale of property in the community of Pennfield, which held a war memorial. Later, Bev was responsible for the property being designated as a Veterans’ park and picnic area.
Bev also led in the development of a 250 Wing Property not for profit, a one acre Air Force Memorial to mark the centennial of the RCAF. He has also led the organization of the annual Pennfield Remembrance Service, remembering those of the RCAF and Canadian Army who served at Camp Utopia and the RCAF station at Pennfield Ridge.
Bev has also served with the Royal United Services Institute. As President, he was instrumental in the creation of a New Brunswick Naval Memorial which was unveiled in 2023.
