Mr. Charles D. MacIsaac is a Veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces, serving in both the Regular and Reserve Forces. He served with NATO and for the United Nations Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus. He is a long-time, active member of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 34 (Normandy) in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia. In his time volunteering with the Legion, Mr. MacIsaac has served on the Branch Executive and is currently serving as Sergeant-at-Arms. In this capacity, Mr. MacIsaac trains Colour Party members and participates in Remembrance Day services and the Poppy Campaign.
Representing the Legion, Mr. MacIsaac volunteered to attend the first Surveyor Long Term Care Training Program in 2003. He has remained a steady volunteer in that program (now known as the Outreach and Visitation Initiative) for the past 14 years. This work, in partnership with Veterans Affairs Canada, has contributed significantly to the care and well-being of Veterans across Nova Scotia and also in New Brunswick, where he has worked to expand the program.
Mr. MacIsaac is a shining example of leadership in promoting the remembrance and the care of Veterans in his community.
