Mr. Wilberforce is a Veteran of the Second World War and the Korean War. After completing his service, he undertook a 35-year career with the Ontario Provincial Police. He has been a member of the Royal Canadian Legion (RCL) for 55 years. Mr. Wilberforce has been the Ontario representative of the HMCS Huron Association for the past ten years where he was responsible for three very successful reunions held in Gananoque. Mr. Wilberforce keeps in close contact with Veterans in his area and in particular, he offers care and support to a Veteran who now suffers from dementia. Mr. Wilberforce’s efforts helped to ensure a fellow Second World War Veteran’s medals were replaced after they perished in a house fire. At the age of 84, Mr. Wilberforce continues to help others in whatever way he can.
