Harry Ferguson

New Glasgow, Nova Scotia

Mr. Ferguson is a Second World War Veteran who served on naval ships during the Battle of the Atlantic and at D Day. Mr. Ferguson is dedicated to promoting commemorative and other Veteran related activities in his community and has been a guest speaker on numerous occasions. Mr. Ferguson has participated in the Remembrance Day assembly at Frank H. MacDonald Elementary School for the past seven years, where he interacts with the students and provides them with a presentation. This is well received each year by the students and teachers. Mr. Ferguson has sold poppies for his Royal Canadian Legion branch for many years and can always be counted on to help out wherever needed. Mr. Ferguson is also a member of the Admiral Murray Branch of the Royal Canadian Naval Association (RCNA). In addition to his dedication to Veterans and remembrance, Mr. Ferguson is involved in his community by serving on the board for the Valley View Retirement Home, as a member of his church's choir, and as a Deacon Elder.
