Karl Morel

Mr. Morel is a Canadian Forces Veteran. Since his retirement in 1994, he has been very active with veterans' organizations. Mr. Morel is the Quebec Provincial Director of the Canadian Association of Veterans in United Nations Peacekeeping (CANVUP). He is the Communications Officer for the Canadian Peacekeeping Veterans Association (CPVA), Editor-in-Chief of The Blue Beret newsletter and manager of the national Web site of the CPVA. He is a former associate vice-president of the Warrant Officer's and Sergeant's Mess of the Régiment de Maisonneuve, where he continues to take care of Veterans. Mr. Morel has also been a volunteer with several Cadet corps, with which he participates in the distribution of poppies. He is a member of Branch #27 of The Royal Canadian Legion where he fulfils the roles of Veterans Welfare and Poppy Chairman. Mr. Morel actively participates and assists in annual Veterans' Week activities and has represented the above-noted peacekeeping Veterans' associations at commemorative ceremonies over the years. Whenever the opportunity arises, Mr. Morel speaks to Canada's youth about Canada's military participation, past and present.
