Kenneth Sercerchi

Mr. Sercerchi is a Canadian who volunteered to serve with the United States Armed Forces during the Vietnam War, where he received the Purple Heart. Mr. Sercerchi has been an avid supporter of Veterans on both sides of the border for more than 30 years. He has been an active member of The Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #11 since 1983. In 1991, Mr. Sercerchi organized a flag program which saw each Legion Branch in the Saint John River Valley region receive a prisoner-of-war/missing in action flag in remembrance of those who served their country, but never returned home. In 2007, he organized a "Veteran's Clinic" at Branch 11 to provide advice and guidance to Veterans and to assist in filing applications for benefits and services. Mr. Sercerchi has had a remarkable success rate in securing benefits for Veterans, aiding Canadian Veterans residing in the United States and American Veterans living in Canada. Mr. Sercerchi was the Public Relations Coordinator for the "Red Friday Valley Rally" in 2007, organizing a welcome-home reception at Branch #11 which was televised throughout New Brunswick and Maine. For many years, Mr. Sercerchi has organized and participated in Remembrance Day services, including speaking to local youth.
