Mr. Charles (Abby) Neville (posthumous)

Mr. Neville was a Second World War Veteran. He was a longstanding and active member of The Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 128. During this time, he served as Service Officer for 15 years and was Chairman of the Honour and Awards for many years. Mr. Neville was a strong advocate of Veteran's rights and benefits, and as a result, he was at the forefront of many Provincial and Dominion Command meetings. He also attended many activities sponsored by Veterans Affairs Canada, where he voiced his concerns for Veterans and their families. Mr. Neville was a driving force behind the local Candlelight and Remembrance Day ceremonies and was actively involved in 2005's Year of the Veteran activities prior to his death. Mr. Neville was awarded Life Membership in The Royal Canadian Legion, the Meritorious Service Medal and Palm Leaf, and was named Veteran of the Year in 2005.
