Master Warrant Officer (Retired) Paul Dupuis, CD served in the Royal Canadian Army Service Corps for 47 years. Upon retirement, Paul joined The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 6 and became their service officer, a role he has fulfilled for 25 years. As service officer, Paul has assisted hundreds of Veterans in obtaining aid or disability claims from Veterans Affairs Canada.
Upon his retirement from the military, Paul wanted to help Veterans and became a Service Officer for The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 6 in Moncton. Shortly after, Royal Canadian Legion New Brunswick Command asked Paul to become the District Service Officer. His responsibilities as the Service Officer include assisting Veterans with paperwork associated with disability claims and applications, including federal and provincial programs and acting as a liaison between Veterans and Veterans Affairs Canada. He helps Veterans schedule appointments for medical procedures required for the completion of disability claims. He guides them with the paperwork, and will follow up and assist them with appointments. Paul is contacted daily by Veterans seeking his assistance by phone, meetings at the branch or visits to Veterans homes. As District Service Officer, Paul travels all over eastern New Brunswick to meet Veterans in need where they are located.
Paul also helps the Legion branch president by assisting homeless Veterans obtain temporary accommodations and housing. He has volunteered countless hours to support Veterans and is recognized by the Veterans he assists as caring and compassionate, with an extensive knowledge and experience.
