Robert Barrett

Dartmouth, Nova Scotia

Mr. Barrett served in the Canadian Forces. He has been an active member of the Army, Navy, and Air Force Veterans in Canada (ANAVETS) since 1993, having served on the Executive in many capacities, and currently as the Unit's First Vice President and also Unit Treasurer. He attends provincial and national ANAVETS conventions where he advocates on behalf of Veterans. Mr. Barrett actively participates in activities hosted by his ANAVETS unit, ensuring Veterans from the nearby Veterans Memorial Hospital attend dinners and dances held in their honour. He parades at numerous commemorative events throughout the year including Remembrance Day, Battle of Britain, Battle of the Atlantic, Liberation of the Netherlands, and the Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo. Mr. Barrett was a member of a committee within ANAVETS which designed and created a Veterans Memorial Wall at his unit. Mr. Barrett is also an active member of The Royal Canadian Legion.
