Warrant Officer (Retired) Robert Dupuis, CD has been a member of The Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 6 for over 36 years and has fulfilled many critical roles, contributing to the branch and to the Veteran community in the Greater Moncton area.
Robert has served as President of Branch 6 for over ten years and has been responsible for the implementation and oversight of all Legion activities including community support and the Leave the Streets Behind program. As part of Leave the Streets Behind, he assists to secure suitable housing for Veterans, ensures they have enough food, are able to access appropriate medical care and advocates for those who are unable to do so themselves. Robert also facilitates communication and cooperation between other community organizations that support the homeless and the at-risk community in Southeast New Brunswick.
Robert also supports Veterans and their families at the Veterans’ Health Centre in Moncton. Under his leadership, Branch 6 facilitates activities both at the Legion and at the Health Centre in support of the Veteran residents and their families. These include social activities to keep the mind active, military ceremonies at the residence and family supports to those having lost a loved one.
Additionally, Robert is involved in the annual Veterans’ Week events for the greater Moncton area, including the Remembrance Day ceremony held annually at the Moncton Coliseum, which is the largest Remembrance Day ceremony in New Brunswick.
