Robins Elliott

Wolfville, Nova Scotia

Mr. Elliott established a Canada Remembers program for teenagers in Nova Scotia, which has been taken up across the country. Mr. Elliott authored a book "Those Waking Dreams", about Canadians from Wolfville and Nova Scotia who lost their lives during the Second World War, to ensure that their sacrifice is never forgotten. He has been instrumental in Canada-Netherlands commemorative activities, including the May, 2000, unveiling of the National Canadian Liberation Monument in Apeldoorn, the Netherlands, by H.R.H Princess Magriet. Mr. Elliott helped coordinate a pilgrimage to the former battlefields on which Canadian regiments fought during campaigns in the Netherlands in 1944-45, for Canadian and Dutch children. His efforts to commemorate those Canadians who liberated the Netherlands during the Second World War have made a lasting impression on the minds of Dutch children and adults alike.
