Terrence Murphy

Mr. Murphy joined the Canadian Army in 1957 as a soldier apprentice in the Royal Canadian Corps of Signals. His reputation as a leader and as a man known for helping others followed him upon his retirement when he became the Manager of the Sergeants' Mess at Canadian Forces Base Kingston. He is also actively involved with the Signaller's Club of Canada. He served as National Vice President of the Union of National Defence Employees for six years. Mr. Murphy worked tirelessly to keep 750 members of the Signaller's Club of Canada informed during his time as secretary-treasurer. He has been an active member of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 631, as well as the Army, Navy and Airforce Veterans of Canada, Martello Unit 377, in Kingston for several years. As a self- taught computer technician, Mr. Murphy has restored 30 computers over the past ten years and has provided them, at no cost, to Veterans who could not otherwise afford the expense.
