Valeria Ferguson

Mrs. Ferguson is retired from the Royal Canadian Air Force. Throughout the years, her contributions to the military have been numerous. Mrs. Ferguson was the events and public affairs coordinator for the Quiet Air Shows in Vernon, British Columbia. Mrs. Ferguson was also secretary to the Camp Vernon Heritage Society, a group which published a book entitled Camp Vernon - a Century of Military History.

As past regional director of the Air Force Association of Canada, Mrs. Ferguson was influential in obtaining Prisoner of War Allowances for more than 100 ex-PoWs. In 2000, Mrs. Ferguson had a monument dedicated to Captain Richard Bailey, a CF-18 pilot from Vernon, who was killed in a 1995 crash. As a member of the RCAF, 899 Wing, Mrs. Ferguson has been on the executive as a former public relations officer and past president. Mrs. Ferguson received the Queens Golden Jubilee Medal in 2003.
