William R. Diamond

Mr. William Diamond has played a key role over the last 15 years in promoting the recognition of Veterans’ contributions to the development of Canada, commemorating the service of Veterans and supporting Veterans in general. During his many years of membership in the British Columbia Regiment (Duke of Connaught’s Own) Association, he has demonstrated excellent leadership through his active involvement in developing Veterans’ programs offered through the Association or its charitable trust. Mr. Diamond has held many positions in the Association, including those of Vice President and President. He has also been appointed the Honorary Colonel of the 39 Combat Engineer Regiment.

Mr. Diamond is well known in the community for his support of the Canadian Armed Forces, cadets, volunteer and authorized military bands and of Veterans. He has provided valuable guidance and leadership to the British Columbia’s Regiment’s two volunteer bands. The bands and individual members play at a multitude of events, including parades, commemorative events, Veterans’ funerals and battlefield tours.

Mr. Diamond has assisted in organizing the British Columbia Regiment Association’s annual Remembrance Day dinners. He has also helped in organizing and fundraising for European battlefield studies tours in 2012 and 2015 for 20 Veterans and 32 serving members of the Regiment. The tours provided an opportunity for the attendees to develop a better understanding of the tremendous contributions of those who served in the First and Second World Wars.
