Mr. William “Bill” Wood served with the Royal Canadian Army Signal Corps from November 1959 to January 1963. In 1973, he joined The Royal Canadian Legion, Peninsula Branch 62, where he has been an active member ever since. Beginning in 1976, he served as Branch President five times.
In the 30 years as a Royal Canadian Legion member, Mr. Wood has always participated in the Remembrance Day Parade, Veterans Dinner and Remembrance Church Parade.
Mr. Wood advanced through the ranks to become District Commander of the Royal District and was elected The Royal Canadian Legion New Brunswick Command Provincial President in 1997, where he served a two-year term. He is the cadet representative for the Royal District.
Mr. Wood volunteered at the Ridgewood Veteran Wing for 17 years. He was also responsible for the reformation of the 140 Army Cadet Corps as well as served as the Director for the NB Army Cadet League.
