Son of James Edmond and Jane Catherine (nee Bracey) Day of Folkestone, England. Husband of Melva Gladys (nee Erickson) and father of Anita, Patricia and Debra Day of Calgary, Alberta. Mrs. Melva Day met her husband, then an RAF pilot Cecil (Hap) Day, during his flight training at Penhold and was on the first civilian ship back to Britain in 1945 to marry him. He was the love of her life and tragically died in an RCAF flying accident in France.
