Son of William Edward and Luella Joan Ross of Hamilton, Ontario. Brother of Arthur, Blair and Barbara. Though Corporal Ross was assigned to the Canadian Military Engineers, he actually served with the Air Force component of the military. In 1999, Mrs. Ross was finally awarded the Silver Cross which gave her the status of Silver Cross Mother. Mr and Mrs Ross donated a $300.00 cheque sent to them by National Defence to help defray the cost of Cpl Ross' funeral to the 150 Hamilton Tiger Squadron, the air cadets Cpl Ross belonged to as a youth. Cpl Ross joined in the early 1970's and had previously been an air cadet. An Air Cadet squadron in Hamilton, Ontario have created a trophy to the best junior cadet in Cpl Ross's memory. His home unit was CFB North Bay, Ontario.
