Son of Norman Osborne and Alys Beryl (nee Green) De Witt of North Vancouver, British Columbia. Brother of Keith, Eric, Garth, and Maxine J. DeWitt. The airplane and body of Aircraftman 1st Class DeWitt were recovered 14 September 1953.
