Son of Joséphine Marsan-dit-Lapierre (deceased in 1898) and Jean-Louis Dulong (remarried in 1899 to Malvina Gariépy and in 1900 to Exilda Aumond), of St-Esprit, Montcalm, Québec.
On October 21, 1914, he attempted to enlist in the newly formed 22nd Battalion of the Canadian Expeditionary Force. He was assigned service number 572 before being discharged on January 25, 1915, due to his young age. He reapplied on March 27, 1915, and was enlisted in the 41st Battalion, service number 417086. On June 17, he sailed for Great Britain and arrived in Plymouth, England, on the 28th. He was transferred to the 22nd Battalion on September 10 and landed at Boulogne, Pas-de-Calais, France, on the 15th. He was killed in action on September 15, 1916, during the Battle of Courcelette, Pas-de-Calais. He had initially been reported missing between September 14 and 18.
