Lancaster ME592 was ABC equipped on 31 Jan 44 and took part in the following Key Operations: As SR-T, Mailly-le-Camp 3/4 May 44; As SR-D, Stuttgart 28/29 Jul 44; Fonteney-le-Marmion 7/8 Aug 44 (Tactical, nine-man crew); Kiel 26/27 Aug 44; Stettin 29/30 Aug 44 - Lost 
ME592 was one of three 101 Sqdn Lancasters lost on this operation.
The aircraft was airborne 2125 on 29 Aug 44 from Ludford Magna on ABC duties. Those killed are buried in Sweden at Halsingborg (Palsjo) Municipal Cemetery with their Sqdn comrades from LL757. 
This was a remarkably young crew with P/O Piprell being the eldest at 22. Overall, their average age was 20.   They were:
P/O (P) G.L.Piprell RCAF, age 22, from Borden, Sask. 
Sgt (AG) W.H.Howie RCAF; age 19, from Glace Bay, N. S.
Sgt (AG) F.J.Kendall RCAF, age 20, from Vancouver, B. C. 
And RAF crew members:  .Sgts J. A.Gibbon Brown; J.C.Fawcett; W.G.N.Heath; G.Farrington (ABC operator)
F/S E.W.Cunningham, RCAF survived.  On the Lost Bombers website it said he was an evader, and in the book They Shall Grow Not Old (Commonwealth Air Training Plan Museum, Brandon, Man.), it says he was injured and interned in Sweden.
