Frederick Ells was a member of the Royal Canadian Infantry Corps, he died while serving with the East Lancashire Regiment as a CANLOAN Officer. Son of Harry and Helen Ells of Saint John, New Brunswick. Husband of Phyllis Alberta Ells of Saint John.

Brouay is a village in Normandy about 1.5 kilometres south of the main road from Bayeux to Caen and roughly midway between these two towns.
