Pilot Officer Victor Alfred Knox
This is the Memorial for Pilot Officer Victor A. Knox who was the Tail Gunner in the same plane that I was in. We were shot down the night of April 22/23, 1944 over Laon in L'Aisne, and he was the only fatal casualty. He lies in Couvron Amencour Communal Cemetery. Victor's stone is on the left; on the right is the stone of an unknown Airman.

Couvron-et-Aumencourt is a village 12 kilometres north-north-west of Laon and some 5 kilometres north of Crepy-en-Laonnais. The COUVRON-ET-AUMENCOURT COMMUNAL CEMETERY is south-east of the village.
