Son of Francis Pott and Elizabeth Lumsden Hunter of Birch River, Manitoba. Brother of Private Roland F.C. Pott, who fought in Europe during the Second World War and survived the conflict.
Served in Manitoba, Québec, Jamaica with Y Force, Hong Kong with C Force, Japan as a prisoner of war. He had 1,040 days of service, including 837 overseas.

YOKOHAMA WAR CEMETERY is 9 kilometres west of the city on Yuenchi-Dori, Hodogaya Ward, which branches left off the old Tokkaido highway. The nearest railway station is Hodogaya, 5 kilometres to the north on the JNR line but the cemetery is easily reached by bus from Yokohama station.
