1077 Lieut Leonard Alfred Welsh MC (RMC 1915) was the son of Alfred Peter and Alice Maud Maly Le Bagde Welsh, of Ardmore Ranch, Millarville, Alberta. He was educated at Trinity College School, Port Hope, and Royal Military College, Kingston, Ontario. He served with the Lord Strathcona's Horse (Royal Canadians), R.C.A.C. He died on 9 Oct 1918. He was buried in the  Troisvilles Communal Cemetery in Nord, France.
