Additional information
Baptized Joseph-Wilfrid-Ferdinand Croteau. Son of Napoléon Croteau and Alida Bergeron, of Montréal (St-Henri), Québec.

Conscript number 104157 DC under the Compulsory Military Service Act of 1917, he was enrolled at post number 14 of the 4th District Depot of the 2nd Quebec Regiment. He embarked for Great Britain and landed in Glasgow, Scotland on 3 April 1918. He was transferred to the 22nd Battalion of the Canadian Expeditionary Force on 11 August 1918, and sent to France on August 13. Shot and wounded on 29 August 1918 during the Battle of Chérisy, Pas-de-Calais, France, he died of his wounds at the 14th General Hospital in Boulogne on 9 September 1918.

TERLINCTHUN BRITISH CEMETERY is situated on the northern outskirts of Boulogne.

From Calais follow the A16 to Boulogne and come off at Junction 3 and follow the D96E for Wimereux Sud. Continue on this road for approximately 1 kilometre when the TERLINCTHUN BRITISH CEMETERY will be found on the left hand side of the road.
