Joseph enlisted into the C.E.F. at Vancouver BC on Nov. 11th 1914. He listed prior military service with the South African Rifles & Kitchner's Fighting Scouts & Civilian Guides 1901-02.  He listed his occupation as "Engineer"
Joseph died at Vancouver BC on Nov. 21st 1919 at the age of 40.  He was laid to rest in the Mountain View cemetery of Vancouver BC
