William enlisted into the C.E.F. at Vancouver BC Nov. 30th 1914 listing prior military service of 4 years with the 3rd South Wales Borderers.  He listed his occupation as "Labourer"  William died at Vancouver BC on July 9th 1919 at the age of 41.  He was laid to rest in the Mountain View Cemetery of Vancouver BC
