Photo of Percival John Doubleday – Percival John Doubleday was born in Halifax Nova Scotia on June 5,1888. He was one of ten children born to Percival and Deborah Doubleday. Percival went overseas with the The 25th Bn Canadian Infantry Nova Scotia Regt in 1915. He saw action at Vimy Ridge and also in the Battle of the Somme. In May of 1917 Percival married an English Nurse named Caroline who he had met while being treated for wounds he received in action. He was killed in action at Lens France on Wednesday July 8,1917 and is buried at Loos British Cenetery. He had been married for only two months.
