Baptized Joseph-Wilfrid-Zélide Hébert. Son of Joseph Hébert (deceased in 1893) and Joséphine Dancause (remarried to Moïse Brassard in 1895, she died in 1916).
He previously served with the 22nd Battalion, from 24 October 1914 to 11 November 1915 (service number 61539), when he was repatriated from England and released from the military as medically unfit, due to a severe sight impairment. He stated being born on 20 May 1891 at his first enlistment and on 11 May 1892 at his second enlistment.
He died of an accident after being hit by a truck on a dark night.
