  • Photo of Francis Edgar– Francis Edgar in uniform after he signed up. Photo taken by Townsend Studio, 1778 Hamilton, Regina. Assume the studio no longer exists, and over 100 years have passed. Obtained in collection of family photos kept by my father Gordon Edgar, son of Robert William Edgar, who was Francis's older brother. Francis's name was written on back of photo.
  • Photo of Francis Edgar– Photo of Francis Edgar taken in Regina after he signed up for service, taken in city centre.
Photo in collection from my dad Gordon Edgar, son of Robert William Edgar, who was Francis Edgar's older brother. Francis' name written on back of photo by my dad's older sister Isabel, who was born in 1912.
  • Photo of Francis Edgar– Photo of Francis Edgar, on a postcard by "Forde Studio's, 530 Main St. and Steel Block, 360 Portage Ave., Winnipeg," prior to signing up. Not sure if studio still exists but it has been over 100 years since photo was taken.

Year not known for sure, but 1913 or 1914 written on back of photo with his name. Note was written by his niece Isabel Edgar, daughter of Francis's brother Robert William Edgar. While both Francis and Robert lived in Regina in 1911 and 1912, Robert moved to Winnipeg from sometime between late 1912, and census time in 1916, until he passed away in 1949. Francis is believed to have lived in Regina most of the time he was in Canada, arriving in Oct 1911 and signing up for duty in 1915.
