Son of Lewis and Ruth Larson. Husband of Thelma Carrie Larson. Father of Linda and Carol Ann Larson. Brother of Glen and Leroy Larson.

He enlisted June 20, 1941 and served with the Royal Canadian Air Force and Royal Air Force until October 30, 1945. He was a bomber pilot and Pathfinder pilot in England for nearly 2 years at the end of World War II.
