3300 Flying Officer James Alick Marshall (RMC ’54) was the son of Thomas and Kathleen Marshall of Castor, Alberta. Brother of Margaret and Kathleen Marshall. He sported the ‘new’ scarlet uniform that had been re-introduced into the Royal Military College of Canada. Except for a few details, the full dress uniform of officer cadets at the Royal Military College of Canada in Kingston, Ontario, has remained essentially the same since the college was founded in 1874. As shown in this 1954 photo of James Alick Marshall, only the shakos and pith helmets worn on parade by first-class officer-cadets have disappeared, to be replaced by pill-boxes. The class of 1952 was the first class to enter RMC/RRMC (Canadian Service Colleges) post World War II. He graduated from the Royal Military College of Canada in 1954. He served with the No. 3 Advanced Flying School. He died at 22 years of age on Jul 17, 1954 at Portage La Prairie, Manitoba, Canada. He was buried in the Castor (Beaverbrook) Cemetery in Alberta, Canada.
