This street is one of four named after Colonel Joseph Norman Spencer who lived on the large estate subsequently opened up for development by these roads. This formal Memorial Garden is located in Memorial Park (59034-025).

In 1921, Bylaw #151 was passed by the municipal council and the district accepted the donation of the land to be utilized as a public park and to be known as Memorial Park. This small park, opposite the Memorial Library (59034-022) is a peaceful sanctuary next to the bustling Ambleside Business District. The park is home to a formal memorial garden (59034-026), memorial arch (59034-012), and memorial benches (59034-027, 59034-028, 59034-029, 59034-030).

This stained glass window is dedicated to the memory of Lt. Horace Gordon Stone who died on Active Service 15 December 1918. It is located in main hall of the West Vancouver Memorial Library (59034-022). "Harmony" was created in 1931 by John Henry Dearle. Henry Stone, a founder of the Vancouver Art Gallery, commissioned the window as a memorial to his son, who was a naval officer. Mr. Stone presented the Window to the Vancouver Art Gallery. The Art Gallery displayed the window until the Second World War when it was removed for safekeeping. After the war, the Gallery returned the window to Mrs. Allen Gentles, Lt. Stone’s sister. When the West Vancouver Memorial Library was constructed in 1950 as a memorial to those who lost their lives in the Second World War, Mrs. Gentles presented the window to the Library.

This library officially opened on 11 November 1950. Located in this library is a Book of Remembrance (59034-024) that lists all the local casualties of the Second World War. There is also a stained glass window dedicated to Lt. Horace Gordon Stone (59034-023). Many citizens throughout the municipality donated to the construction, equipment, and books for the library. It is dedicated as a living monument and an everlasting commemoration to the gallant men who sacrificed their lives during the Second World War.
