Born in Oshawa, Flight Sergeant Myron Fetchison spent most of his life here prior to his enlistment in August 1941. He received his education from Ritson Road and Cedardale Public Schools and Oshawa Collegiate and Vocational Institute. Before enlisting he was employed in the shipping and receiving department at General Motors. He belonged to the Roman Catholic Church. The son of Michael Fetchison, he was one of three brothers to join the RCAF, the others being Warrant Officer, 2nd Class, Joe Fetchison and Corporal Anthony Fetchison. He took his basic training at Valcartier and trained for air engine mechanic at Uplands. He then remustered to air crew and took his I.T.S. Training at Belleville, graduating at Malton. He went overseas in June 1943. Myron was reported missing after air operations overseas on July 29, 1944.
