This plaque was found behind the old Bank of Commerce in Parkhill in a pile of debris and was rescued by a Legion member. In addition to the monument at its head office in Toronto, the Canadian Bank of Commerce honoured employees from each branch who served in the First World War. This plaque was commissioned shortly after the war and dedicated to the bank's 1,701 employees who served in the war, 321 laid down their lives. The names of three employees of the Parkhill Canadian Bank of Commerce who served in the war are listed on the plaque.

The plaque features the caduceus logo of the bank - two snakes winding around a winged staff at the upper left, and two poppies intertwined with a symbolic olive branch at the lower right. The Canadian Bank of Commerce went to great lengths to commemorate its staff that served in the war including a two-volume book of staff profiles and accounts of their war experiences.

The first Wyoming Cenotaph was located in front of the library at 536 Niagara Street and dedicated on September 25, 1955, in everlasting memory of those who lost their lives in the First and Second World Wars. In October 1986, the cenotaph plaque donated by Canadians of Dutch descent was replaced and the old plaque was moved to the legion for a memorial display. In 2008, the 1986 plaque and cross on top of the old cenotaph that was donated by Ron Canton, were installed on the Wyoming Cenotaph at this location.

In 1964, the Melbourne Royal Canadian Legion Branch 510 purchased two lots at the Longwood Cemetery to build a memorial stone to honour all those who had fallen in past conflicts. Construction was completed in 1965.

After a number of years, the Legion decided to look for land closer to the village. Mrs. Elsie (Vail) Auld and Mrs. Ina (Vail) Campbell donated a triangle of land and the war memorial was moved to the new location in 1985.  Flagpoles, lights and interlocking bricks were added.
