The Journey full of Excitement

Transcript
Interviewer: You find yourself now in France, preparing for the 100th Anniversary of the Battle of Vimy Ridge... That would have been me, my dad yes but it's me now. Interviewer: Can you tell us a little bit about what this trip means to you and how you're feeling. It means an awful lot to me because I would be doing for what my dad would have done. He would have loved to come over here but unfortunately he passed away so I am taking his place. My brother has passed away as well. And yes, I definitely wanted, I did everything I could to get over here. Justin is my grandson on my youngest daughter's side and he just turned eighteen just a few months ago so he's eligible to be doing that job. Oh he was excited when he heard that he was coming here, oh boy, I think he was more excited than I was. Grandson Justin: Well at first I was like there's no way that we are going to be able to get out here. There's no way this is going to happen and then you're here and it's like, it's a completely different experience. You read about it in a book is one thing but when you go to the cemeteries and the monument and you really see the true extent of what happened and you really get a real understanding for what happened here all those years ago. And it's an experience that you will never have one like it. This is exciting.
