Location:

Courcelette is a village some 10 kilometres north-east of the town of Albert, just off the D929 road to Bapaume. The Courcelette British Cemetery is approximately 1 kilometre west of the village on the south side of a track, suitable for cars, from the secondary road from Courcelette to Pozieres. The route is signposted in the village.

  • Memorial– A stained glass two light window by R MCCausland was installed at Grace on the Hill Anglican Church in Toronto in 1919 in memory of a parishioner Lt Charles Hamilton Hobkirk who died at the Battle of Courcelette during WWI. The window features Jesus on the cross. Standing near the cross are Jesus' mother Mary (the wife of Joseph), and his mother's sister, Mary (the wife of Clopas), and Mary Magdalene. "To the glory of God in loving memory of Lt Charles Hamilton Hobkirk killed in action at the Battle of Courcelette in 1916, age 19"
