Citation(s):

39-45 Star, Air Crew Europe Star, Defence Medal, War Medal 1939-45, Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp. He was awarded his Air Gunner Badge on 18 August 1941 and was awarded his Operational Wings posthumously on 20 June 1946.

Only child of Percy McQueen and Geraldine Evelyn (née Webster) Gardner of Brooklyn, Queen's County, Nova Scotia. Attended Liverpool High School, Nova Scotia from 1932 to 1939. He enjoyed field hockey, aquatic hunting and fishing. He was a Boy Scout for six years. He served Overseas from 17 September 1941 until his death. From a review of the Promotion of Personnel Deceased forms located on his file, he was promoted to Flight Sergeant effective 18 Febuary 1942 in a decision rendered 6 November 1942; promoted from his substantiative rank of Flight Sergeant effective 18 February 1942 and appointed to Warrant Officer II effective 1 November 1942 in a decision dated 6 November 1942.

The AMSTERDAM NEW EASTERN CEMETERY is in the south-eastern district of Amsterdam on the road to Hilversum and is easily reached by public transport. The British plots are in the south-eastern portion of the cemetery.
