His full name was Harold MacDonald Matheson.
Son of Murdo Alexander Matheson and Mary Ann MacDonald, of Gould, Québec.
He served in Québec, in New Brunswick, in Newfoundland with Force W, in Hong Kong with Force C and in Japan as prisoner of war. He had 1,646 days of service, including 1,187 overseas.

YOKOHAMA WAR CEMETERY is 9 kilometres west of the city on Yuenchi-Dori, Hodogaya Ward, which branches left off the old Tokkaido highway. The nearest railway station is Hodogaya, 5 kilometres to the north on the JNR line but the cemetery is easily reached by bus from Yokohama station.
