Born in the city of Mardy Glamorgan Wales.  Philip enlisted into the C.E.F. at Coleman Alberta on March 23rd 1916 listing his occupation as "Miner"  Philip died at Vancouver BC on Jan. 28th 1918 at the age of 27.  He was laid to rest in the Mountain View Cemetery of Vancouver BC
