Location:

Albert is a town on the River Ancre in the Department of the Somme, 28 kilometres north-east of Amiens. The ALBERT COMMUNAL CEMETERY EXTENSION is on the south-east side of Albert and the junction of the roads to Fricourt and Meaulte, and the Extension is entirely enclosed by it.

  • Newspaper Clipping– Pte. Vincent Defoe enlisted in Toronto in July 1915.  His brother, Pte. William Augustus Defoe, 109119, 4th C.M.R., died June 2nd, 1916.  A third brother, Sgt. Frederick Raumann Defoe, 56090, survived the war.  All three brothers were born in Toronto.   In honoured memory of the Defoe brothers.
