Son of Marjorie Zimmerman of Saanichton, British Columbia. Husband of Joan Bernice (née Fleming) Zimmerman. Served during the Second World War from 26 March 1943 to 30 September 1946 in Canada, the United Kingdom and on the High Seas on Sea-Going Ships of War, (Atlantic Zone). He also served with the permanent force from 1 October 1946 until his death. Also served under service numbers V-57379 and N-50016.
