Son of Ernest Collard and Agnès Côté, of Montréal (Hochelaga), Québec.
While in a trench in front of Boiry-Becquerelle and Boileux-Saint-Marc, on the night of May 23/24 1918, he was severely wounded from shrapnel. He was taken to a dressing station and from there evacuated to No. 3 Canadian Stationary Hospital in Doullens, where he died.

Doullens is a town in the Department of the Somme, approximately 30 kilometres north of Amiens on the N25 road to Arras. The DOULLENS COMMUNAL CEMETERY and EXTENSIONS lie on the eastern side f the town, about 270 metres south-east of the road to Arras.
