I grew up. I met a lot of people and I have pride in my country that might not have, I mean I was always proud of Canada, but I think being in the service was a little bit more personal. I think that's probably what it was. I felt I was part of it, but I enjoyed the service if I had, if I was single and sixty years younger, I would, and they needed me I would go again. I'm proud to be a Vet and I'm proud to be a Canadian.

Margaret Baker

Margaret Baker was born in 1925 in a small place called Muscone which was 12 miles from Gravenhurst. She grew up in a family of three girls, where they were schooled at home by their mother. Her dad became a plumber in Newmarket when the war broke out and that is when they moved to civilization as she calls it. She joined the service in 1944 but, before that she was working for Massey Harris wiring mosquito bumpers wings.
