Canadians in Asia and V-J Day
During the Second World War, Canadians saw action in Asia from 1941 to 1945. It was a very challenging place to serve. Despite the great hardships faced in places like Hong Kong, Burma and the Pacific Ocean, brave Canadians did their part to help the Allies triumph and Victory over Japan (V-J) Day was declared on 15 August 1945. The lesson plans and resources below were developed to help young people learn more about this important chapter of Canada’s military history.
