Corporal Keith Ian Morley was killed in the Panjawi District of Afghanistan on September 18, 2006, while serving with A Company, 2nd Battalion, Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry from Shilo, Manitoba. He was one of four members of the Canadian Armed Forces killed as a result of a suicide bicycle bombing while on foot patrol in the district. He was originally from Winnipeg, Manitoba.

He was killed five days before his 31st birthday. Corporal Morley attended the Dr. D.W. Penner and Samuel Burland schools as well as the Glenlawn Collegiate Institute before he decided to make the military his career. He loved the outdoors, woodworking, barbecuing and books. He left behind his mother, Mrs. Della Marie Morley, her husband Fred, his younger sister Shannon Jaye Morley and her husband, Preston McCaffrey. Shannon and Preston have a son, born seven months after Corporal Morley's death, whom they named Keith Cole McCaffrey.
