Casson lorsqu’il travaillait chez Sampson-Matthews, une importante entreprise de lithographie et d’art commercial du centre-ville de Toronto.

Anciennement méthodiste et presbytérienne, l’église unie de Lucan, située au 142, rue Main, à Lucan a été fondée en 1925. L’église méthodiste de Lucan a été fondée en 1862. L’église presbytérienne de Lucan a été fondée en 1867 et nommée l’église presbytérienne Ormiston en l’honneur du modérateur de l’église presbytérienne du Canada. L’église méthodiste et l’église presbytérienne se sont unies en 1925 pour devenir l’église unie de Lucan, utilisant l’édifice méthodiste. L’église a fusionné avec l’église unie de Granton en 2014 pour former l’Église unie Villages.
