The Tales of Animals in War newspaper is for ages 5 to 11 to introduce the concepts of remembrance and thanks to younger children.
Let’s go, Mission Recognition!
Hey kids. Thanks for visiting the remembrance clubhouse!
There sure is a lot going on here. Remembrance Day and Veterans’ Week are coming soon. To get ready, we want to learn more about Canada’s Veterans. Veterans are people who served in the military to protect us and our country. They have also defended peace and freedom around the world.
Veterans have done so much for us! What can we do for them? Learning about their service is important. So is showing Veterans that we recognize how much they have done for all Canadians. There are many ways to say thank you. You can wear a poppy. Attend a remembrance ceremony. Shake a Veteran’s hand.
You can also join us and take part in Mission Recognition. Your task? To show Veterans how thankful we are for all they have done. It’s a special new thing! Start by reading this newspaper. Learn what we’re doing at our clubhouse. Then talk with your teacher and other students. Think of ways you can honour the brave Veterans who live in your community!
How will you remember?
