Hey, I’m Ellie! Did you know that memorials aren’t only for long ago wars? New ones are still being created today. I’m here to tell you that our country is building a national monument in Ottawa to honour Canada’s mission in Afghanistan. More than 40,000 Canadians served there. They faced danger, loss and experiences that changed their lives.
Memorials can help us remember people who died or mark an important event. They also tell Veterans we recognize and appreciate what they have done. I’m going to write a postcard to say thank you to them.
